Like every girl, Amanda wants a change. In her world, there are two artists with the power to define her beauty, and Amanda visits them both. The first artist draws her as she is, delicately capturing her simple curls and freckled face. The second magically transforms her appearance by painting over the original drawing. Amanda craves each stroke as the painter makes her into what she always wanted. The contrast is incredible, but Amanda wants more. The painter brushes the paper again, but this time the strokes hurt, and Amanda is pushed to her limit. As her image and desires collide, Amanda wrestles with how she was created, who she is becoming, and how far she must go to be truly happy. The film culminates with the two artists and their pictures of beauty contesting for Amanda’s heart. |
